Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri, — To ask the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, —
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware of the fact that the present Chief Minister of the Uva Province has started a programme for the distribution of school bags among school children of the Uva Province;
(ii) if so, of the number of students of the Badulla District that have received the aforesaid benefit;
(iii) of the total expenditure borne for this purpose by now;
(iv) of the funding sources of the aforesaid project;
(v) whether any irregularity has occurred in the aforesaid project; and
(vi) if so, of the steps that will be taken in this regard?
(b) If not, why?
