Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,—To ask the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) consumption of liquor has increased; and
(ii) consumption of liquor is a main reason for the deterioration of health of people?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the government has taken action to reduce the consumption of liquor;
(ii) if so, the aforesaid courses of action;
(iii) approximately, the amount of money spent by the government annually to treat the diseases caused by consumption of liquor; and
(iv) the aforesaid amount as a percentage of the amount spent by the government for health?
(c) If not, why?
