Hon. (Mrs.) Shanthi Sriskandarasa,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House the number of schools in Mullaitivu Educational Zone, which are included in the programme of “The closest school is the best school” ?
(b) Is he aware that the Mullaitivu Educational Zone is comprised of two Divisional Secretariat Divisions and most of the schools in those divisions have been neglected by not including them in the programme of “The closest school is the best school”?
(c) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the reason for neglecting the schools mentioned in (b) above; and
(ii) whether steps will be taken to include the schools in the Mullaitivu Educational Zone, which have been neglected, in the programme of “The closest school is the best school” as per its criteria?
(d) If not, why?
