Hon. Indika Anuruddha Herath,— To ask the Minister of Rural Economic Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that a rice storing warehouse complex in which stocks of paddy worth 100 crore rupees could be stored was constructed in a five acre plot of land at Marandagahamula at a cost of 100 million rupees by the Divineguma project of the previous government;
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) the amount of paddy stored in that warehouse at present ;
(ii) the number of businessmen who deal with this warehouse;
(iii) whether discussions have been conducted with the Trade Association in regard to the sale of rice by this warehouse;
(iv) the amount of paddy that had been stored in this warehouse for the last time;
(v) the name of the person to whom the aforesaid amount of paddy was sold along with the day on which it was sold; and
(vi) whether there is a programme to make the fullest utilization of this warehouse ?
(c) If not , why ?
