0721/2016: Lack of doctors for rural hospitals - Anuradhapura District

Hon. Ishak Rahuman,— To ask the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine,—

(a) Is he aware that —

(i) a great dearth of doctors prevails in the rural hospitals in Anuradhapura District;

(ii) the patients are faced with severe difficulties as a result; and

(iii) the central dispensary in the village of Ikirigollawa of the Medawachchiya Divisional Secretariat Division belonging to the Anuradhapura District has remained closed down for a long period of time?

(b) Will he inform this House —

(i) of the date on which doctors will be appointed to hospitals mentioned in (a)(i) above where there is a dearth of doctors; and

(ii) of the date on which Ikirigollawa Central Dispensary will be opened to the public?

(c) If not, why?
