Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the quantity of white sandalwood and the quantity of red sandalwood that were imported to Sri Lanka in the year 2015, separately; and
(ii) the main countries from which Sri Lanka imports white sandalwood and red sandalwood?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether white sandalwood and red sandalwood is cultivated in Sri Lanka;
(ii) if so, the percentage of it out of the requirement of the country;
(iii) if white sandalwood and red sandalwood are not cultivated, the reason for it; and
(iv) the steps that will be taken by the government to expand white sandalwood and red sandalwood cultivation in Sri Lanka?
(c) If not, why?
