Hon. Bimal Rathnayake,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether there is an accord or agreement between the government of Sri Lanka and the government of India or an Indian Company to modernize the Palali Airport;
(ii) if so, whether that accord or agreement will be presented to this House;
(iii) whether the documents that have the approval and observation of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Department of Attorney-General for the aforesaid accord will be submitted;
(iv) whether this contract has been handed over to the relevant company through an open tender procedure;
(v) the cost needed to modernize the Airport according to the contract; and
(vi) the time period that is needed to complete the modernization task?
(b) If not, why?
