Hon. Bimal Rathnayake,— To ask the Minister of Ports and Shipping,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether there is an accord or agreement between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of India or an Indian Company to modernize the Kankasanthurei Harbour;
(ii) if so, whether that accord or agreement will be presented to this House;
(iii) whether the documents that have the approval and observations of the Cabinet of Ministers and the Department of Attorney General for the aforesaid accord will be submitted;
(iv) whether this contract has been awarded to the relevant company through an open tender procedure;
(v) the cost needed to modernize the harbour according to the contract; and
(vi) the time period that is needed to complete the modernization task?
(b) If not, why?
