Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,— To ask the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government,—
(a) Is he aware that complaints have been lodged with the Financial Crimes Investigation Division against the Chief Minister of the Uva Province regarding a number of allegations of fraud and corruption?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether the aforesaid Chief Minister has recruited advisors;
(ii) if so, under what authority has he made such recruitments;
(iii) separately of the names of the advisors that have thus been recruited and the allowances paid to them; and
(iv) if such advisors have been recruited illegally, whether action will be taken to remove them and to take legal action against the Chief Minister for making such recruitments?
(c) If not, why?
