Hon. Ishak Rahuman,— To ask the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the dam of ancient Yodha-Ela of Kala Wewa, that brings water to Tissa Wewa from Batuwatta junction has not been reconstructed since 1977; and
(ii) since no action has been taken to reconstruct this canal which has a length of about 12.5 km, a large number of farmers who use this road have found it difficult to carry their yield and farming equipment?
(b) Will he inform this house the reason for not taking action to reconstruct the dam?
(c) If not, why?
