Hon. Shehan Semasinghe,— To ask the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government ,—
(a) Will he inform this House in relation to the project that has been proposed for modernizing Anurdhapura weekly fair including the fish market area of the Anuradhapura Municipal Council and for removing the contaminated water in those areas for which a provision of Rs.15 million has been approved for implementing Phase I —
(i) whether Phase I will be completed and be commissioned before 31st December as planned;
(ii) if so, the date on which it will be commissioned;
(iii) whether funds have been allocated for Phase II of this project;
(iv) if so, of the date on which activities of Phase II will be commenced; and
(v) of the date on which Phase II has been planned to be commissioned after completion of that phase?
(b) If not, why?
