Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage,— To ask the Minister of Law and Order and Southern Development,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the former Chairman of the Ganga Ihala Pradeshiya Sabha Mr. Mahindarathna Aluthgamage has lodged a complaint with the New Kurunduwatta Police that an armed group and two police officers in civil who stormed his residence on 13.12.2015 brandished firearms and threatened him and his mother with death;
(ii) another similar complaint was lodged by the former Chairman at the New Kurunduwatta Police on 14.04.2015; and
(iii) no action has hitherto been taken by the New Kurunduwatta police in respect of these complaints?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) the names of the person who wielded firearms and threatened the former Chairman and his mother with death on 13.12.2015 and the policemen who provided security to him; and
(ii) whether steps will be taken to initiate legal action against the individual and the two police officers who entered the residence of the former Chairman twice and made death threats;
(c) If not, why?
