Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the criteria adopted to select schools under the project titled “Closest school best school” implemented by the Ministry of Education;
(ii) the schools selected from the Ganga Ihala Korale and Pasbage Korale education divisions in the Nawalapitiya electorate, under this project; and
(iii) whether he admits the fact that the schools selected by the Gampola Education Zone and the Ministry of Education under the stipulated criteria have been changed on the intervention of the Minister of Education?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether the two new schools nominated on the involvement of the Minister of Education were selected under the criteria mentioned in the (a) (i) above; and
(ii) if not, the reasons for that?
(c) If not, why?
