Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) whether tenders are called in procuring transformers required for the Ceylon Electricity Board;
(ii) if so, the institutions that submitted tenders during the last five years separately in respect of each year;
(iii) separately, the value of tenders submitted by the said institutions; and
(iv) of them, the institutions selected, separately in respect of each year?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) the institution that supplies transformers to Ceylon Electricity Board at present;
(ii) the owner/owners and/or the Board of Directors of the said institution; and
(iii) the positions they hold in the Ceylon Electricity Board?
(c) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the date on which tenders will be called again for procuring transformers; and
(ii) the measures to be taken to minimize the inconveniences that would be faced by other tenderers?
(d) If not, why?
