Hon. Jayantha Samaraweera,— To ask the Minister of Defence,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether plans have been prepared to withdraw the military camps in the Northern and Eastern provinces in 2016;
(ii) the number of military camps that have been planned to be removed; and
(iii) separately the names of the army, navy and air force camps that will be removed?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether plans have been made to free or reduce the extent of land of the high security zones that are adjacent to the military camps in the Northern and Eastern provinces in 2016;
(ii) separately the names of the army, navy and air force camps of which the high security zones will be removed or reduced;
(iii) the extent of land in the security zones that has been planned to be reduced or freed camp-wise, separately?
(c) If not, why?
