Hon. (Prof.) Ashu Marasinghe,— To ask the Minister of Sports,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the amount of money allocated in the year 2009 for the construction of the Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium of Diyagama, Homagama;
(ii) whether the aforesaid money was utilized for the construction of the stadium;
(iii) if not, of the purpose on which the aforesaid money was spent; and
(iv) whether foreign aid or any other local funding has been obtained for the construction of the stadium in addition to the aforementioned money?
(b) Will he also inform this House —
(i) of the amount of money received from the International Cricket Council for the development of cricket stadiums for the 2011 Cricket World Cup;
(ii) separately of the amounts spent on renovations or construction work of the Keththarama, Pallekele and Sooriyawewa stadiums;
(iii) separately of the names of institutions that carried out renovation or construction work of the aforesaid stadiums;
(iv) separately of the amounts of money paid for the renovation or construction of each of the aforesaid stadiums; and
(v) of the payments outstanding to the aforementioned institutions which carried out renovation or construction work?
(c) If not, why?
