Hon. Udaya Prabhath Gammanpila,— To ask the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade,—
(a) Is he aware of the statement made by the Hon. Prime Minister to the effect that the Volkswagen Motor Company is going to make an enormous investment in Sri Lanka?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether the aforesaid company has submitted an application or a project report to the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka for the purpose of investing in Sri Lanka;
(ii) of the total amount of money that the aforementioned company will be investing in Sri Lanka;
(iii) of the number of employment opportunities generated by the particular company; and
(iv) of the progress of the aforesaid project by now?
(c) If not, why?
