Hon. Udaya Prabhath Gammanpila,— To ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs ,—
(a) If a person has been appointed to the post of Sri Lankan High Commissioner of United Kingdom, will he inform this House of —
(i) the name of the said person;
(ii) the date of appointment;
(iii) the period for which the particular vacancy existed prior to the appointment of this person?
(b) If a person has not been appointed to the post of Sri Lankan High Commissioner of United Kingdom, will he also inform this House of —
(i) the period for which the post exists vacant;
(ii) of the persons who have declined to accept the above post when it was offered to them;
(iii) of the reasons that caused the aforesaid persons to decline accepting this post?
(c) Will he state the reason that caused this position to remain vacant for a long period of time?
(d) If not, why?
