Hon. Vijitha Herath,— To ask the Minister of Prisons Reforms, Rehabilitation, Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) 312 families have been resettled in Bogaswewa zone in Vavuniya district under the programme to resettle those displaced owing to the war;
(ii) they were to be provided 1 acre of dry land and 1 acre of paddy land under this programme;
(iii) no provision of land in the said manner has been done, even though 3 years have lapsed by now; and
(iv) they have been rendered utterly helpless due to loss of their livelihood?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether speedy action will be taken to remedy this situation; and
(ii) if so, what that measure is?
(c) If not, why?
