0182/2015: ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED IN CRIMES OF TERRORISM : DETAILS

Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma,— To ask the Minister of Defence,—

(a) Is he aware that a Gazette Extraordinary bearing No.1854/41 dated 21.03.2014 has been issued by the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka under sub-paragraph (2) of paragraph (4) of the United Nations Regulations No. 1 of 2012;

(b) Will he inform this House—

(i) of the number of organizations and the number of individuals declared by the said Gazette Notification as being involved in crimes connected to terrorism;

(ii) whether measures will be taken to table a description containing all details of the relevant organizations and individuals; and

(iii) if not, why?

(i) whether investigations regarding the organizations and individuals mentioned in (b) (i) above in relation to acts of violence committed by the LTTE from 1976, have been commenced by the Sri Lanka Police; and

(ii) whether action will be taken to request from the member countries of the United Nations to hand over the relevant suspects to our country in accordance with the provisions stipulated in Resolution No.1373 adopted by the Security Council of the United Nations on 28th September 2001?

(d) If not, why?

2014.03.21 දිනැති ගැසට් නිවේදනය අනුව සංවිධාන 16ක් සහ පුද්ගලයින් 424කි.

2015.11.20 දින සංශෝධිත ගැසට් නිවේදනයට අනුව සංවිධාන 08ක් සහ පුද්ගලයින් 155කි.

ඒ සඳහා වන ඇමුණුම 01 සහ ඇමුණුම 02 සභාගත* කරනවා.

(iii) පැන නොනඟී.

(ඇ) (i),(ii) ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිස් දෙපාර්තමේන්තුව නීතිය, සාමය හා දක්ෂිණ සංවර්ධන අමාත්‍යාංශ විෂය පථයට අයත් වන බැවින් ඒ සඳහා එම අමාත්‍යාංශයෙන් විමසන්නේ නම් මැනවි.

(ඈ) පැන නොනඟී.
