Hon. Lucky Jayawardana,— To ask the Minister of Housing and Construction,—
(a) Is he aware that a housing scheme was commenced in 1977 in Hantana, Kandy, for the middle class citizens on a concept of the then Minister of Housing, the Late Hon.Ranasinghe Premadasa?
(b) Will he inform this house—
(i) of the total area of that scheme which belongs to the Housing Development Authority;
(ii) of the number of houses built there;
(iii) whether all the houses have been provided to occupants by now; and
(iv) if so, in what manner?
(c) Will he also inform this house—
(i) whether there are vacant plots of land belonging to the Authority within that land by now;
(ii) if so, of the extent of such plots of land separately;
(iii) whether plots of land have been sold by the Minister of Housing of the previous government for construction of luxury houses within this scheme;
(iv) if so, to whom and the extent of land sold in that manner;
(v) of the income received by the Authority through the sale of those plots of land;
(vi) whether luxury houses have been constructed on those plots of land by now;
(vii) if so, of their selling price;
(viii) of the benefits received by the Authority;
(ix) if houses have not been constructed, whether those plots of land will be taken over by the Authority again; and
(x) if so, of the date on which it will be done?
(d) If not, why?
