0148/2015: MAHINDA RAJAPAKSA COLLEGE, MATARA: BUILDING FACILITIES

Hon. Dullas Alahapperuma,— To ask the Minister of Education,—

(a) Is he aware that —

(i) the lack of buildings at the Mahinda Rajapaksa College of Matara in which almost two thousand students receiving their education under four streams viz. science, technology, commerce and arts streams has lead to a serious crisis;

(ii) although construction work on the hostel, the auditorium and the three storied building had been started, all of the aforementioned constructions have come to a halt from the 15th of last January onwards; and

(iii) construction work of the playground has been delayed although lands have been acquired for the same?

(b) Will he inform this House —

(i) whether action will be taken to construct the hostel of this school;

(ii) if so, of the date on which it will be done;

(iii) of the date on which work will commence on other construction work that has been halted;

(iv) whether the playground will be built to provide sports facilities which are essential to thousands of students; and

(v) if not, why?

(c) Will he disclose to this House of the truth about the opinion that is being spread to the effect that there is an attempt to close down the Mahinda Rajapaksa College of Matara?

(d) If not, why?

(අ) (i) ගොඩනැඟිලි අවශ්‍යතාවක් ඇත.

(ii) ශ්‍රවණාගාරය සහ තෙමහල් ගොඩනැඟිල්ල ඉදි කිරීම ආරම්භ කළද, ගරු ඩලස් අලහප්පෙරුම මැතිතුමා 2014.09.12 දින මාතර පැවැත්වූ දැයට කිරුළ විශේෂ රැස්වීමේදී සඳහන් කළ පරිදි, ශිෂ්‍ය නේවාසිකාගාරය ඉදි කිරීම තාවකාලිකව නතර කර ඇත. ඇමුණුම 1 - (රැස්වීම් වාර්තාව) - සභාගත* කරමි.

2015 වසරට ප්‍රතිපාදන සලසා ගන්නා තෙක් තාවකාලිකව නතර වී තිබුණ ශ්‍රවණාගාරය සහ තෙමහල් ගොඩනැඟිල්ල ඉදි කිරීම් අවශ්‍ය ප්‍රතිපාදන සලසා ගැනීමෙන් පසු නැවත ආරම්භ කරන ලදි. ඇමුණුම 2 සභාගත* කරමි.

(iii) ඔව්. 2015.01.25වන දින මාතර දිස්ත්‍රික් ලේකම් කාර්යාලයේ පැවති "දැයට කිරුළ සංවර්ධන වැඩ සටහන 2015" සාකච්ඡාවේදී එළඹුණු තීරණයක් අනුව ක්‍රීඩා පිටිය හැර ඉතිරි ඉදි කිරීම් නිම කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇත. ඇමුණුම 6 සභාගත* කරමි.

(ආ) (i) ඔව්.

(ii) 2016 වර්ෂයේදී ආරම්භ කිරීමට අපේක්ෂිතයි.

(iii) ඉහත (අ) (ii) පිළිතුරට අනුව ඉදි කිරීම් වැඩ ඉටු වේ.

(iv) ඔව්. අධ්‍යයනයකින් පසු විධිමත් සැලසුම් අනුව.

(v) (ආ) ( iv) අනුව පැන නොනඟී.

(ඇ) අසත්‍යයකි. ඇමුණුම 7 සභාගත* කරමි.

(ඈ) අදාළ නොවේ. ( ඇමුණුම 7 බලන්න)
