Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Public Enterprise Development,—
(a) Will he state separately, the number of estates and the factories, owned by Janatha Estate Development Board and Sri Lanka State Plantation Corporation?
(b) Will he table separately—
(i) the names of the estates and the factories, mentioned in aforesaid (a), the areas located and the crops planted;
(ii) the number of employees, employed in each of the aforesaid estates and factories;
(iii) the names of the estates and factories that incurred losses or earned profits out of aforesaid estates or factories within the last five years; and
(iv) the loss incurred or the profit earned by each aforesaid estate and factory during aforesaid period of time?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the General Treasury has provided money for loss incurred public estates;
(ii) if so, the amount provided ;
(iii) of the estates and factories for which money was provided ;
(iv) whether steps have been taken to revitalize the loss making public estates; and
(v) if so, of aforesaid measures ?
(d) If not, why?
