Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) separately, of the power stations that have been constructed and are being constructed in Maskeliya Oya, above Laxapana water fall;
(ii) whether environmental assessment reports have been called, on the environmental effects that could be caused by this power stations; and
(iii) if so, whether aforesaid reports will be submitted to this House?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether he accepts the fact that there could be probable damages to the Laxapana waterfall due to the construction of aforesaid power stations;
(ii) if so, whether measures have been taken to minimize the aforesaid damages; and
(iii) of aforesaid measures?
(c) If not, why?
