Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Higher Education and Highways,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) many rural roads in the Matara District are in a dilapidated condition; and
(ii) the people are subjected to severe hardships due to that;
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) the amount of money spent for road development in the Matara District in 2014;
(ii) the roads that were developed utilizing that money; and
(iii) the amount of money spent on each of the aforesaid roads separately?
(c) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether a survey has been conducted on the condition of roads that have not been developed in the District of Matara;
(ii) if so, what that roads are;
(iii) separately, the dates on which those roads had been reconstructed for the last time;
(iv) whether plans have been prepared to develop those roads; and
(v) if so, whether those plans will be submitted to this House?
(d) If not, why?
