Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Law and Order and Prisons Reforms,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) separately, the number of incidents of child abuse and rape reported and the number of raids conducted on drugs in 2014;
(ii) of the names, addresses, telephone numbers and other details of the public officials and politicians who were convicted of the above incidents; and
(iii) separately, of the punishments meted out to such officials and politicians?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether he admits, that sufficient laws to curb child abuse, rape and the drugs above are not prevalent in this country;
(ii) if so, whether steps will be taken to amend those laws;
(iii) if so, how; and
(iv) when it will be done?
(c) If not, why?
