Hon. Sunil Handunnetti,— To ask the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) what is meant by “Weeraketiya Project” which was inaugurated on 17.02.2014 and completed on 06.11.2014 by the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation ;
(ii) what the sub-activities under that project are;
(iii) the expenditure borne in respect of each such sub-activity separately; and
(iv) whether the “Weeraketiya Project” is relevant to the objective and aims of the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the Navey has provided labour for this Project;
(ii) if such labour was provided on paid basis, what amount has been paid;
(iii) whether an institutional investigation has been conducted into it by the then Ministry of Urban Development or the Land Reclamation and Development Corporation; and
(iv) if so, what its present position is?
(c) Will he also inform this House—
(i) if the Financial Crimes Investigation Division is conducting an investigation into this Project, what its progress is; and
(ii) how the amount of money lost due to this Project, which stood at 61 million rupees, is going to be recovered?
(d) If not, why?
