Hon. Sunil Handunnetti,— To ask the Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the actions taken against the misuse of Rs.3000 million of the Divi Neguma Fund within 07 days from 02 November 2014 to 09 November 2014 based on the Presidential Election -2015;
(ii) whether cases have been filed against those responsible; and
(iii) if cases have hitherto not been filed, the progress of that inquiry at present?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the actions to be taken in respect of the loss of Rs 3000 million to the Divi Neguma fund owing to this; and
(ii) the actions to be taken by the Minister in charge of the subject to prevent the recurrence of such misuses in future since the profligacy of various funds of the government by the Ministers in charge of subjects at their discretion without any Cabinet decision could set a bad precedence?
(c) Will he disclose to this House, the measures taken by the government to expedite the judicial actions in respect of investigations regarding such financial crimes?
(d) If not, why?
