Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayathissa,— To ask the Minister of Housing and Construction,—
(a) Is he aware that allegations have been made regarding a payment of Rs.14,800,800/= to Ocean View Development (Pvt.) Limited, from the money that has been collected from the institutions coming under the purview of the then Ministry of Construction, Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities for the printing of diaries and calendars for the year 2015 for that Ministry, and Departments and Institutions under it;
(b) Will he state, if money was collected as (a) above, the amount collected;
(c) Will he also state—
(i) whether quotations have been called to select an institute for printing the relevant diaries and calendars, the institute so selected;
(ii) separately the number of diaries and calendars ordered and the number printed and handed over by the press;
(iii) the institution which made the payment to the press;
(iv) the amount so paid?
(d) Will he inform this House—
(i) if money has been paid by an institution other than the Ministry, the reasons for same;
(ii) whether an investigation is conducted by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division regarding the printing of these diaries and calendars;
(iii) if so, its progress?
(e) If not, why?
