Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, — To ask the Minister of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that sesame (gingelly) farmers are faced up with various difficulties in processing the sesame harvest;
(ii) of the volume of sesame production in the country during the past three years;
(iii) of the amount of sesame that was exported during that period and its value;
(iv) whether steps have been taken to produce sesame seeds locally for enhancing the sesame yield; and
(v) whether methodologies have been identified for using the technology in order to process sesame harvest?
(b) If not, why?
