Hon. Shantha Bandara,— To ask the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management,—
(a) Is he aware of the “Daduru Oya” irrigation project, which is being implemented in the Kurunegala District?
(b) Will he state —
(i) the amount of money that the government has allocated for that project;
(ii) the present progress of that project as a percentage;
(iii) the number of families who are benefitted from that project?
(c) Will he admit that the water problem of the farmers of the Kurunegala District cannot be solved only through the “Daduru Oya” project?
(d) If so, will he state whether any other programme has been prepared?
(e) If not, why?
