Hon. Achala Jagodage,— To ask the Minister of Economic Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of elephants and tuskers reported at the end of the year 2009;
(ii) the number of elephants and tuskers that died as a result of the elephant-man conflicts in the year 2009; and
(iii) the number of people who were killed as a result of being attacked by elephants and tuskers in the year 2009?
(b) Will he submit to this House —
(i) whether there is a proposed programme to minimize the elephant-man conflict; and
(ii) if so, what that programme is?
(c) If not, why?
