Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Defence,—
(a) Will he state whether air-conditioned luxury vehicles have been hired for the duties of the Sri Lanka Army?
(b) Will he table—
(i) if so, of the types of vehicles hired separately; and
(ii) separately and in relation to each type of vehicle, of the monthly rent paid on those air-conditioned vehicles?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether those vehicles are used for normal security duties; and
(ii) if not, whether those vehicles are used for the travelling purposes of the officials?
(d) Will he also state—
(i) the monthly rent paid on the air-conditioned luxury vehicles rented by the Army; and
(ii) the amount paid on the above vehicles in the years 2012 and 2013?
(e) If not, why?

(අ) ශ්රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදාව විසින් කුලී පදනම මත ලබා ගත් වායු සමනය කළ වාහන යුද හමුදා රාජකාරි සඳහා යොදා ගැනෙයි. ඒවා සුඛෝපභෝගී වාහන ලෙස සැලකිය නොහැක.
(ආ) (i) යුද්ධ හමුදාව විසින් එසේ ලබා ගෙන ඇති සියලුම වාහන "කාර් රථ" වේ.
(ii) එම වාහන සඳහා ගෙවන මාසික කුලිය උපරිමය රු.50,000/-කි. විස්තර ඇමුණුමෙහි දක්වා ඇත.
(ඇ) (i) ඔව්.
(ii) වසර 25ක අවම සේවා කාලයක් සහිත ලුතිනන් කර්නල් (පළමු ශ්රේණිය) හා ඉන් ඉහළ නිලයන් දරන නිලධාරින්ට ශ්රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදාව මඟින් අනුමත කළ උපරිම ඉන්ධන ප්රමාණයක් තුළ පෞද්ගලික ගමන් බිමන් සඳහා මෙම වාහන යොදා ගැනීමට අවසර ඇත.
(ඈ) (i) ඉහත (ආ) ii පරිදි වේ.
(ii) 2012 - රු. මිලියන 515කි. (රුපියල් මිලියන පන්සිය පහළොවකි.)
2013 - රු. මිලියන 578කි. (රුපියල් මිලියන පන්සිය හැත්තෑ අටකි.)
(ඉ) අදාළ නොවේ.
