0120/’10 Hon. Sunil Handunnetti,— To ask the Minister of Health,— Will he admit the media reports published in May 2010 to the effect that a shortage of drugs has occurred in Sri Lanka? Will he state the reasons for that shortage of drugs? Will he admit that essential items like drugs should be stocked in stores sufficiently? Will he inform this House of — the number of types of drugs produced by the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation; the number of types of drugs imported to Sri Lanka; and the amount of loss incurred or debts to be paid by the State Pharmaceutical Corporation? If not, why?
