Hon. Ashok Abeysinghe,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a proper a programme is not available for sending the school children who are selected for various foreign sports tournaments to foreign countries to participate in those tournaments; and
(ii) the parents of the children who are selected for foreign sports tournaments are severely inconvenienced under the aforesaid circumstances?
(b) Will he inform this House whether there is a plan to establish a fund for sending the students who are selected for foreign sports tournaments ?
(c) If not, why?

(අ) (i) විදේශ ක්රීඩා තරගාවලිවලට සහභාගි වීමේදී පහත සඳහන් ක්රීඩා තරගවලට සහභාගි වන සියලුම පාසල් ක්රීඩකයන්ට, ක්රීඩිකාවන්ට හා නිලධාරින්ට රජය මඟින් පූර්ණ අනුග්රහය ලබා දේ. (2012.05.16 දිනැති අතිවිශේෂ ගැසට් පත්රයේ සඳහන් වේ.)
* විදේශ ක්රීඩා වනුයේ සාක් ක්රීඩා, ආසියානු ක්රීඩා, පොදුරාජ්ය මණ්ඩලීය ක්රීඩා සහ ඔලිම්පික් ක්රීඩා තරග වේ.
(ii) රජය පිළිගත් ඉහත සඳහන් විදේශ තරග සඳහා සහභාගිවීමේදී ඒ සඳහා සහභාගි වන ක්රීඩක ක්රීඩිකාවන්ගේ දෙමවුපියන්ගේ එකඟතාව හා කැමැත්ත මත කටයුතු කරනු ලැබේ.
මීට අමතරව වයස් සීමා යටතේ ජාතික සංගම් මඟින් තෝරා ගනු ලබන (පාසල් සිසුන්ගෙන් යුත්) ජාතික කණ්ඩායම් විදේශ තරගවලට සහභාගි වීමේදී අදාළ ජාතික සංගම් විසින් වියදම් දරනු ලබයි.
(ආ) එවැනි අරමුදලක් පිහිටුවා නැත.
(ඇ) රජයේ අරමුදල් රෙගුලාසි අනුව රාජ්ය ආයතනවලට එවැනි අරමුදල් රැස් කිරීමේ බලයක් නැත.
