Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,— To ask the Minister of Economic Development,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the total number of persons that receive the Samurdhi assistance at present;
(ii) whether he accepts the accusation to the effect that the aforesaid benefit is not received by the people who are actually poor; and
(iii) whether he accepts that the amount received by a Samurdhi recipient monthly at present is not sufficient to relieve himself from the poverty line;
(b) If not, why?
