Hon. Rajiva Wijesinha,— To ask the Minister of External Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware of a country report on Sri Lanka commissioned by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and produced in April 2010 by an organization named Country of Origin Research and Information (CORI)?
(b) Will he inform this House —
(i) the mechanisms exist to ensure that member states of the United Nations are made aware of such country reports and are able to contribute to their substance;
(ii) whether he can obtain from UNHCR an account of the manner in which CORI was selected for this assignment, with details as to the personnel involved and the research methodology employed; and
(iii) the cost of this exercise?
(c) Will he state whether he will take steps to ensure that any inaccuracies in the report are corrected?
(d) If not, why?
