Hon. S. Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Economic Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the damage sustained by paddy cultivations in the Killinochchi District as a result of the draught that occurred in the Yala season of the year 2012;
(ii) of the reasons for not providing relief so far to the farmers for the above mentioned losses to paddy cultivation;
(iii) of the acreage of paddy land that was damaged in the Killinochchi District as a result of the floods that occurred in the Maha season during the 2012-2013 period;
(iv) of the loss sustained by the farmers as a result of the aforesaid flood;
(v) of the reasons for not providing relief so far to the farmers for the above mentioned losses to their paddy cultivation?
(b) If not, why?
