Hon. E. Saravanapavan,— To ask the Minister of Ports and Highways,—
(a) Is he aware that eventhough the commencement of renovation activities of the A grade roads, namely Kankesanturai Road, Palali Road, Point Pedro Road, Kandy Road and Main Street which are located in Jaffna District and coming under the Road Development Authority have been commenced after 19th May 2009, renovation work of at least one of those roads has not been completed up to now?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the company which obtained the contract for the aforesaid road renovation work is a local company or a foreign company ;
(ii) whether this money is obtained under foreign loans or public funds that are utilized for the aforesaid renovation activities ; and
(iii) of the reasons for the inability to complete the aforesaid renovation eventhough 3 years have lapsed since the commencement of that work?
(c) If not, why?
