Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,— To ask the Minister of Civil Aviation,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) although 10 years have lapsed since the establishment of Civil Aviation Authority , that institution does not have a permanent building up to now; and
(ii) responsible officers of the aforesaid Authority have spent public funds in irregular and careless manner ?
(b) Will he state—
(i) the amount of money paid as rent for the building in which the Civil Aviation Authority has been housed for the past 10 years;
(ii) whether action will be taken to construct a permanent building for the aforesaid Authority which is paying a large amount of money as rent; and
(iii) whether action will be taken against the officer who handled the funds of the aforesaid institution in a careless manner ?
(c) If not, why ?
