2957/2012: BULATHSINHALA MAIN POST OFFICE : SHORTAGES

Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,— To ask the Minister of Postal Services,—

(a) Is he aware that—

(i) the main post office in Bulathsinhala, which had a developed system of communication that enabled communication with foreign countries even in the year 1982, is in a dilapidated condition at present;

(ii) no reconstruction has been  carried out in the aforesaid office since the year of its beginning up to now; and

(iii) there are vacancies for 11 officers in that office at present ?

(b) Will he state—

(i) the number of sub-post offices coming under the aforesaid main post office;

(ii) the total number of employees serving in the main post office and the aforementioned sub-post offices; and

(iii) the number  of service recipients who are served by the main post office alone ?

(c) Will he inform this House whether action will be taken to—

(i) renovate the main post office in Bulathsinhala; and

(ii) look into the current shortcomings of that institution and to fulfill them ?

(d) If not, why ?

(අ) (i)       ඔව්. බුලත්සිංහල තැපැල් කාර්යාල ගොඩනැඟිල්ලේ අලුත්වැඩියා කළ යුතු අංශවල සුළු හා හදිසි අලුත්වැඩියා කටයුතු සිදු කර ඇත.

(ii) ආරම්භ කළ වර්ෂයෙන් පසු කීප වතාවක් ගොඩනැඟිල්ලේ අලුත්වැඩියා කටයුතු සිදු කර ඇත.

(iii) මෙම කාර්යාලයේ නිලධාරි පුරප්පාඩු නැත.

(ආ) (i) උපතැපැල් කාර්යාල 07කි. ලිපි බෙදීම් සහිත කාර්යාල 05ක් හා ලිපි බෙදීම් රහිත කාර්යාල 02ක් වශයෙනි.

(ii) තැපැල් ස්ථානාධිපති (ඒ.තැ.සේ. "ආ" I "අ")            01

(iii)   දළ වශයෙන් 63,000ක් පමණ.

(ඇ) (i) ඔව්. 2013 වසරේ සම්පූර්ණ අලුත්වැඩියාවක් සඳහා ප්‍රතිපාදන වෙන් කරවා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කර ඇත.

(ii) සම්පූර්ණ අලුත්වැඩියාවෙන් පසු මෙම තත්ත්වය මඟ හැරී යන අතර, මේ පිළිබඳව නිරන්තරයෙන්ම පසු විපරම් සිදු කරනු ඇත.

(ඈ) අදාළ නොවේ.
