Hon. A. Vinayagamoorthy,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Will he state the number of persons waiting for the heart surgery to be done in the National Hospital in Colombo to date?
(b) Will he also state whether the number of heart surgeries done in the aforesaid hospital for a day can be increased if an additional Intensive Care Unit is provided ?
(c) Will he take steps to have an additional Intensive Care Unit in the aforesaid hospital?
(d) If not, why?

ශ්රී ලංකා ජාතික රෝහලේ අධ්යක්ෂ වෙතින් ලද වාර්තාවට අනුව,
(අ) 3,262යි. (තුන්දහස් දෙසිය හැට දෙකයි.)
(ආ) අතිරේක දැඩි සත්කාර ඒකකයක් සපයා දීම මඟින් පමණක් දිනකට සිදු කරන හදවත් සැත්කම් සංඛ්යාව වැඩි කළ නොහැක.
(ඇ) ඔව්. ශ්රී ලංකා ජාතික රෝහල සඳහා නව හෘද රෝග ඒකකයක් අලුතින් ඉදිකිරීමට සැලසුම් කරමින් පවතින අතර ඒ සඳහා මේ වන විටත් සාකච්ඡා කරමින් පවතී. එහිදී යෝජිත හෘද රෝග ඒකක සංකීර්ණය සඳහා ඇඳන් 25කින් යුතු දැඩි සත්කාර ඒකකයක් යෝජනා කර ඇත.
