Hon. M. T. Hasen Ali,— To ask the Minister of Local Government and Provincial Councils,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) the Local Government Commissioner (W.P) through his letter No. LGD/09/01/10 dated 29.02.2012 has made an inquiry from the Municipal Commissioner regarding the progress of the implementation of a recommendation directed to the Colombo Municipal Council by the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka with regard to a complaint made by a retired assistant fitter of the Colombo Municipal Council Mr. A.H.M. Maharoof;
(ii) further reminders in this regard have been sent through letters dated 14.05.2012 and 31.05.2012 ; and
(iii) the officials of the Colombo Municipal Council who are acting in violation of P.A. Circular No. 17/2005, have so far not taken any measures to implement the above recommendation ?
(b) Will he state whether disciplinary action will be initiated against the officials responsible for the delay in granting recommended relief to Mr. Maharoof ?
(c) If not, why ?
