Hon. Dinesh Hemantha,— To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) number of persons who died of rabies as a result of dog bites in 2025;
(ii) expenditure incurred on the treatment and vaccination provided to rabies patients during the said year;
(iii) total amount allocated for the sterilization of dogs during the said year;
(iv) number of stray dogs sterilized using the said allocation;
(v) total amount allocated to the Ministry in 2026 for the dog sterilization programme;
(vi) number of stray dogs sterilized to date in 2026 using the said allocation; and
(vii) nature of the dog sterilization programme implemented by the Ministry, in brief?
(b) If not, why?
