Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports,— (2)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether there is a plan for the maintenance and renovation of the Kalutara District Sports Complex (formerly known as Raja Samaranayake Stadium) located in Bandaragama;
(ii) if so, of the maintenance and renovation work to be carried out at the said sports complex;
(iii) of the estimated cost thereof;
(iv) of the amount of money that has been spent on the maintenance and renovation of the said sports complex during the year 2025;
(v) whether he is aware that the grass of the turf has died resulting in the exposure of the underlying gravel on a section of about 100 meters along the 400-metre track of the stadium and in several places in the middle of the stadium;
(vi) if so, of the steps that will be taken to resolve this issue; and
(vii) of the steps that will be taken to prevent rainwater from accumulating in the stadium?
(b) If not, why?
