Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Minister of Health and Mass Media,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House of the —
(i) amounts of money that has been allocated from the year 2016 to the present to ensure the rights granted to the citizens of Sri Lanka under the Right to Information Act No. 12 of 2016 separately for each year;
(ii) steps that will be taken in future to strengthen the said Act; and
(iii) legal reforms that will be made in future to further strengthen the rights granted to the citizens of Sri Lanka by the said Act?
(b) Will he also inform this House of the —
(i) number of appeals received by the Right to Information Commission of Sri Lanka from the year 2017 to the present and the number of appeals resolved by the Commission in each year during that period separately; and
(ii) number of appeals that have not been heard and concluded so far out of the said number of appeals?
(c) If not, why?
