Hon. Chanaka Madugoda,—To ask the Minister of Urban Development, Construction and Housing,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether he is aware that there is currently an acute shortage of drinking water in the Galle District;
(ii) of the measures that will be taken to address the aforesaid shortage of drinking water;
(iii) whether he is aware that the previous government commenced the construction of a water tank with a capacity of 50,000 cubic litres at the Wakwella Water Pumping Station in Galle; and
(iv) of the reasons for the construction of that water tank being halted midway?
(b) If not, why?
