Hon. Major General (Rtd.) G.D. Sooriyabandara,—To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the total extent of land belonging to the Land Reform Commission in acres, in each of the district, separately;
(ii) of the laws that are applicable in transferring the lands belonging to the Commission to individuals, government entities and private institutions;
(iii) whether the land transfer certificates of the Commission are classified;
(iv) of the person who is vested with power to cancel an instrument of disposition that has already been issued; and
(v) whether steps will be taken to update/amend the laws relating to the lands of the Land Reform Commission?
(b) If not, why?
