Hon. Thurairasa Ravikaran,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Higher Education and Vocational Education,— (1)
(a) Will she inform this House —
(i) whether she is aware that there are buildings in government schools, which have been partially constructed and subsequently abandoned;
(ii) of the number of such buildings existing in each province, separately;
(iii) of the main reasons that have contributed to the delay in the construction work of the aforesaid buildings;
(iv) out of the aforesaid buildings, of the number of buildings in each province for which budgetary allocations have been made in the budget for the year 2025 for the purpose of completing the construction work, separately;
(v) of the time frame within which the construction work of the aforesaid buildings will be completed;
(vi) of the precautionary measures taken to prevent any accidents that may occur due to the partially constructed buildings, affecting students and school staff; and
(vii) of the methodology followed to complete the construction work of the aforesaid buildings expeditiously and safely;
(b) If not, why?
