Hon. E.M. Basnayaka,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, Land and Irrigation,— (1)
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the extent of land in acres acquired by the Land Reform Commission within the Kandy District when the Commission was established;
(ii) of the names of the individuals and companies to whom such lands have been legally leased out and the extents of the lands leased out to each, separately;
(iii) whether taxes are collected from those individuals and companies properly;
(iv) of the names of the individuals and companies that are illegally using the lands mentioned in (i) above; and
(v) if legal action has been taken against those individuals/ companies, of the current progress of it?
(b) If not, why?
